Zurich 5 stars, Geneva 2 stars
Yesterday we travelled from Zurich to Montreux to Geneva to Florence. Zurich is the pinnacle of first-world modernity. Everyone speaks four or five languages, drives super-cars and wears three watches. Montreux is like a story-book scene; steep hills, vineyards and a Disney-inspired castle (though Chateau Chillon predates Disney by eight or nine centuries). Geneva, on the other hand, has a fire-hyrdrant fountain thing and a disappointing flower clock.
The fountain is remarkable in magnitude (500L/sec at 200km/h go shooting up into the air), but otherwise... it's just a really powerful nozzle.
In general, I'm glad we didn't spend more than afternoon in that city.
Today we're in Florence on our way to Sienna for a day trip.
