Florence: Uffizi museum sculptures and casts

My favorites works in the Uffizi were the great-than-life-size marble sculptures. My favorite of these was undergoing renovation (we watched the renovating artists through slits in her privacy-wall). It depicted a warrior battling a snake with a woman (I think...) and smaller boy.

The other pieces I thought were especially well-done were much, much smaller. There was a trio of identical sculptures: one in wood, one in ceramic and another in plaster (I think). It showed a dog-looking dragon with wings and two serpent tails for hind legs doing battle with some warrior.

Brought out the Dungeons and Dragons nerd in me.
