- Iceberg lake hike the first day. Blossoming "bear grass" everywhere. No actual bears. Iceberg lake is well named--extremely cold with real icebergs.
- Redrock falls++ hike the second day. Evidence of bear! We found a big patch of matted down grass from some mega-fauna's napping spot.
- Third day's morning bathroom break cut short by giant black bear in our camping area! Not more than 30' from us. Angela and I watched him for some minutes before he spooked and headed into the forest. We followed him for a bit (past a nervous-looking mule deer) trying to take more pictures. We got a little nervous when he took a step towards us instead of away. Then he was off.
- Fourth day Angela played golf (and had three pars) and I went out for a hike with Wisconsin side of the family plus Anne. Got about 3.5 miles towards Grinnel glacier then turned back to conserve soft tissue of feet.
- Fifth day, headed out for rafting and site-seeing. Stopped near Many Glacier hotel to watch small black bear (who was actually brown) eating huckleberries. Super cute. We were about 10' from him. No maulings, good pictures.
- Did some road-side stops and hikes along the way to town and saw a mountain goat at Logan's path. He ambled directly across the path, posed for us, then lay down on the other side. Not camera shy at all.
- At the Logan's Pass visitor center, we hiked up this long board walk up the mountain (shades of Stairway to Heaven) and got up-close with a couple tourist-friendly Hoary Marmots.
- Rafting later that day followed by Bannnagrams and Dictionary Game ("Laundlet: n. a small landau")
